Quizzes
Quizzes and tests don't hold all the answers, but they do give some information.
The value of inventories depends on the test, the clinical expertise of the interpreter, how you feel when you take the test, your age, experiences and other variables.
Tests don't provide all the information needed for wise decision-making. They should be interpreted by qualified professionals who can integrate test results with other personal information often obtained from well-designed exercises and appropriate questions. Because you continually grow throughout life, results may change over time.
Tests also don't address the context or environment of an occupation. This is an important component of occupational suitability. The wrong environmental fit and poor "people chemistry" will influence job satisfaction and success. An individual, who could be happy in one environment, may self-destruct in another. A pharmacist, who loves working in a drug store, may dislike working in a hospital or biomedical company.
Do you know what career and lifestyle options are compatible with your personal characteristics?
Getting to Know Yourself
Uncovering a you that you didn't know existed can be fun. Selecting a satisfying occupation, partner or lifestyle requires a good understanding of yourself -- purpose, interests, needs, values, accomplishments, abilities, aspirations and other personal characteristics. It also requires exploring compatible options.
Remember, the quizzes available in this section only give a small piece of the real you. To get a clearer picture of where you fit with regard to certain traits, ask a close friend for feedback. You may also benefit from more in-depth counseling and coaching (See Counseling and Coaching in theCareer and Personal Development Services menu).

Scoring and Interpretation
Add your "yes" statements. If you answered "yes" to
15 or more, you appear to be a Quester. Seven to 14 "yes" responses
suggest you may be a potential Quester -- you have some Questers characteristics
and some Traditionalist qualities. You seem to possess more Traditionalist
qualities if you responded "no" to 6 or more.
We are all born Questers. But as we grow older, we lose the excitement
for learning and set up barriers to growth that are manifested in expressions
of resistance such as fear, denial, delaying tactics and impatience. We
lose touch with our inner child as well as our Quester qualities. We all
retain Quester traits within that can be strengthened, if we desire.
You will get a more accurate picture of how you score with respect to certain characteristics by completing The Quester Questionnaire in Chapter 3, Dare to Change Your Job and Your Life. Suggestions are also given to help you strengthen Quester traits. Dare to Change may be purchased at book stores or amazon.com. The ebook version is available
from this web site: daretochange.com.
